Okay! So for all of those concerned peoples out there, Sei and I were (only slightly!) insane on the cbox when we decided (or thought) that Kiki & Sei would make an AWESOME pairing. Then we had the idea of other pairings... which will be the surprise of this journal-style story. >333 Have fun! Watch your minds...
Late evening, five years into the future. (From when the rest of the story is.)
An azure sky was giving way to crimson and vermillion flashes as the brilliant orb descended below the horizon. The day had been quiet, filled with lazy daydreams and gentle caresses as multi-colored pups had dashed in and out of the day. The vermillion fae wasn't the only mother in sight, her ivory friend had also produced a litter, and one of her closest friends was currently carrying her pups to term. Her mother-figure had long since given birth to her own young ones, and now they acted as ringleaders of the motley crew.
The full pack had managed to take over a home once run by humans, big enough to fit them all. (It even had humans living in it at the time, but the howls of 'enraged beasts' were more than enough to scare them away. Food was easy to come by, as there was a huge forest spanning the land behind them. And, of course, for those affectionate towards their drinks, a bar just down the street. So they found their excitement, and life was good. If not a little twisted at times.
A great rise and fall all along my right side kept me comforted as the sun fell, reassured that my mate was sleeping soundly and peacefully. I wasn't the last one to sleep, as I could still her Kaori and one of Shai's pups bickering loudly in the next door. And then, of course, the ebony fae's violent roar as she demanded at least attempted silence. Looking out the window of the large house we all stayed in, I still couldn't seem to come to terms with the fact that five years earlier, we had had none of this - not even the beginnings of our effortless life. My three pups were close by, piled on top of the both of us, only one of them painted with the same half-mask my mate bore. Sighing, I rested my head on Choko, the lighter colored of the three, and exhaled, remembering, although faintly, the day this had all started.
x.Five years earlier.x
It began simply enough, a moonlit-night at the largest bar in town. There was some human event on, so no one was around. It first started with one drink, then a couple more thoughtlessly downed. Each.

Welcome to My World Relaxed, easy breathing escaped me as I let my emeralds slip closed, breathing in deep the scent beside me. The scent of my mate, the one that, although numerous years younger then me, was the one that had taken my heart. In our room, we didn't have to worry about our illusions, and thankful for this fact I let mine slip away, so to only leave my huge ebony bodice beside the fire of the female's. Quietly, I listened to her own breathing, noting how she so quietly took in the breath to let it out. I tuned my ears then to our pups, their own breathing even quieter then Kiki's. My lips twitched in what would have been the beginning os a smile if I had wanted to allow it, but instead I let sleep overcome myself, and I immediately found myself traveling back five years, back to when this had first began.
Where everyone I ever need always ends up leaving me Alone
~*Five years earlier*~The lights dancing from the bar barely affected me as I sat at the stool, blinking heavily once in an attempt to clear my sight. In my right hand I held a glass, my left was crossed in front of me as I stared down at my knuckles. Why was I staring at them? I fought to remember, then I managed to bring to mind that I had just gotten in another fight. Blinking once again a stupid grin flashed to my face. Maybe that would explain why the bar tender was staring at me like I was Al Capone. Or maybe it was because I was still conscience after all I'd drank. Groggily I fought to remember that too. How much had I had so far? I knew I had finished off a bottle of Tequilla at the minimum... did that mean I was starting a second? Damn. New record it looked like. A shout from behind me made my silver head shift to look over my shoulder, narrowing my eyes so I could see better. A human woman was dancing with another male, so she wasn't the one that had yelled. Slowly me greens made turns around the room, and finally I spotted the source; a group playing cards. Was there always someone playing cards? I shrugged it off. Tonight was a night to celebrate for some human reason, so I wouldn't complain. Turning back to the bar I lifted my glass and took a sip of it. The liquid was easy going down, and as I set the glass back down I noticed that now the female bar tender was walking up to me instead of the guy. She wasn't human, I could tell from her scent even through my haze. And, had she always looked that pretty? I physically shook myself. No, no. Could not think that. Even in this state I had my morals, and she was not part of them. Leaning over the counter she lightly set a hand on my face, making me bare a fang at her beneath my illusion as I twitched away, the human side of me slapping her hand away. "What." I grumbled, painfully aware that it seemed I was beginning to slur speach. Instead, she only smiled at me and set the hand on my face again, leaning farther over the counter in her low cut, white speckled black shirt... I closed my eyes. Damn, I was really letting myself slip here tonight. I slip any more and I'd end up in some random girl's pants. Wouldn't that be wonderful, waking up with some random ass stranger in the morning. "Listen, I think you've had enough tonight. Why don't you take off?" Her voice called to me through the thoughts, so I opened my orbs and looked at her. Her own faint greens watched back. "Do not want to." Was my slurred responce, and i took another sip of my drink. She moved her hand from my face to my neck, which under the illusion made my mane flare up. People did not touch my neck without my permission, and she was pushing it. What surprised me is that she grabbed the bottle I had been working on and gave it to me, gently pushing me up so I had to stand. "Listen, take that and go. I'll pay, just get out of here, alright? The cops are going to be coming soon, and I doubt you'll want to be around when they do, alright wolfy?" Normally, she would have set me on edge with that comment, but now I only nodded and wandered out of the bar, carrying the bottle with me as I soon found myself in a random room. Dropping down against the wall I leaned my head back, sighing. I felt fine, thankfully I could stomach alcohol very well. But I was lonely now, and strange enough wanted company... Letting my illusion fall I let out one, low pitched howl, which I hoped someone I knew would hear. In the back of my hazey mind I almost hoped it was the youngest female of my pack, but no. I shouldn't think that. Instead, I waited, hoping someone would show up as I took in my abondoned surroundings. Interesting... [/blockquote]

Unfortunately, Seiko wasn't the only canine affected by liquor tonight. In fact, the dangerous liquid had blurred species lines together, melding them into an indistinguishable lump where even a wolf could pass as a human. And so the small woman did, moving in time to the rhythm that bounded from the stereo. It was trashy music, even to Kiki's ears, but the usually-shy wolfess had long since forgotten to care about that, or the fact that this human she was dancing with was much bigger than she was. Her emerald eyes only broke off for a few moments to look at the rowdy men exchanging cards, but a sudden presence on the small of her back changed her focus entirely towards the male close to her.
He was short by human standards, Kiki reaching up to his shoulder, but still tall enough to seem intimidating from time to time. A messy shag of curly brown hair had dangled overtop of burning brown eyes, solely set on the figure dancing before him. The pair resorting back to default position, primal instincts, had nearly lost the persona that society required them to don every morning and put away every evening. His hand which easily could have encompassed two of the small fae's reached around, pulling her closer until they were inches away from contact, but neither of them made any protest to the gesture, and time wore on, almost bored.
Yes, her steps were clumsy by this time. The spur-of-the-moment dancing hadn't come from being picked up and set on the dance floor, no. It had been a good two hours of a subtle game, moving the drink closer and farther from sight & mind, watching & waiting until the other gave in. But for now there were no winners, what with the amber tears of beer sloshing happily in their innards.
Perhaps this story could have ended in a different way, one comprising of a completely different set of mixed-breeds and endless woes on all sides, but the fates had to enter at some point, and they made their presence well known as Kiki's companion was sent bent over, crashing into a dumpster in the weary aftermath of the storm. For a wolf her size & gender, the vermillion femme had only taken enough to send her into the pleasures of apathy, not enough to taint the night with bad memories & anguish. (Although the events were still quite fuzzy & tumbling all around) Now not bothering to keep her illusion up on the moonlit night, the girl had some sense to cling to the shadows, remembering when her better angels had been ambushed in the gaze of the moon.
To her, a howl was a howl, and should be recognized as such. So, even in this pitiful state, the midget set off in a lopsided trot towards the sound, stopping every so often to marvel at how she ended up on the other side of the alley. The journey took around ten minutes to find where the older male had sent his summons, but she arrived, none the less, in full regalia and reeking of her drink of choice.
Human illusion was raised again, for no particular reason other than the fact that it was convenient at this point, as the girl let her long red hair tumble around her shoulders. It took emerald optics a moment to notice it was Seiko, but the pleasure was evident on her face, expecting nothing but company at this point. The girl was clad in more flamboyant clothes than usual, a slender tank top showing off the finer points of her slender frame, and a knee-length skirt giving way to long (for her proportions) slim legs that seemed to reach below the floor. Golden earrings resided in her earlobes just for this night, but the most pleasant thing at this moment was the smile that was revealed.
"Hey there, Sei." She murmured, sliding to the floor with a graceful 'bump' just in front of him. The fae dimly noticed that the floor was cold, but the fact that cold was unpleasant seemed to be taking a longer time to reach common sense. Dropping her illusion, Kiki melted into a sphinx-like lying position, stretching out her limbs in a pleasurable stretch before regaining proper scale. "Fancy meeting you here."
